Governor Fintiri Reaffirms Commitment to Workers with 13th Month Bonus

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers with the payment of a 13th month salary bonus, describing the gesture as a deliberate appreciation of their loyalty, resilience and contributions to the state’s development.

The Governor gave the assurance on Monday while receiving the leadership of organised labour at the Government House in Yola. He said workers remain central to his administration’s development agenda, noting that civil servants are the backbone of government and a key driver of the state’s economy.

Governor Fintiri explained that the bonus was not merely symbolic but a reflection of his belief that governance should have a direct and positive impact on the lives of the people. He credited the discipline, cooperation and dedication of the workforce for enabling his administration to implement people-oriented projects and policies across critical sectors.

“I have always regarded civil servants as my first constituency,” the Governor said, adding that the achievements recorded so far would not have been possible without their commitment and patriotism.

He further attributed the three national awards of excellence recently conferred on Adamawa State by the Presidency to the diligence and sacrifice of the state’s workforce. Despite prevailing economic challenges, Fintiri assured workers that his administration would continue to prioritise policies that protect and uplift them.

Describing the visit by organised labour as a morale booster, the Governor expressed optimism that the current economic difficulties would be overcome through unity, shared determination and faith in what he described as the Adamawa spirit.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, led the labour delegation to express appreciation to the Governor for the payment of the 13th month salary. He said the bonus had brought relief and renewed hope to thousands of families across the state.

Comrade Fashe described Governor Fintiri as a friend of workers and a leader who keeps faith with his promises, pledging the continued support and cooperation of organised labour to ensure the success of the Fresh Air administration in advancing a people-centred development agenda for Adamawa State.
