Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has visited the State Specialist Hospital in Jimeta-Yola, where a fire outbreak occurred Monday night, destroying part of the facility.
This is the second time the hospital has suffered a fire incident, raising concerns about the safety of vital hospital equipment stored on site.
Governor Fintiri described the hospital as a “collective heritage that should be collectively guarded” and urged the public to be vigilant against saboteurs seeking to undermine societal well-being.
He emphasized that his administration remains committed to prioritizing the health sector to ensure the welfare of the people, despite the unfortunate incident.
Accompanied by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta and Secretary to the State Government, Barr Auwal D Tukur, Governor Fintiri inspected the damaged building.
Adamawa State Health Commissioner Felix Tangwami assured that the affected building was used for passive storage of equipment and would not disrupt health services to the public.
