In a bid to support agricultural development and environmental sustainability, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has donated a mini tractor to Kwararafa University, Wukari.
The presentation ceremony, held on 21st July, 2025, at the university’s main campus, was carried out by Hon. Mainasara Useni on behalf of the Governor, and witnessed by the Executive Chairman of Wukari Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Agbu Samaila.
Receiving the donation, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Shishi Zhema, lauded the Governor for his continuous support to the institution, especially in areas crucial to academic and community development.
“We are immensely grateful to His Excellency for this timely gesture. This mini tractor will go a long way in enhancing our practical teaching, agricultural training, and environmental projects on campus,” Prof. Zhema said.
He further called on other public-spirited individuals and organisations to emulate the Governor’s commitment to education and rural development.
In his remarks, Hon. Dauda Agbu Samaila applauded Governor Kefas for his interventions across critical sectors including education, security, agriculture, and healthcare, describing his leadership as people-focused and transformative.
He urged university staff and the people of Wukari to continue supporting the policies and vision of the state government, assuring them of more developmental strides in the coming months.
The event drew attendance from top university officials, political appointees, PDP ward leaders, members of the press, and community stakeholders.
