Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Friday led a government delegation to pay condolence visits to some bereaved families within the Gombe metropolis, expressing sympathy and offering prayers for the departed souls.
This is contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General ( Press Affairs), Government House Gombe.
The governor’s first stop was at the residence of the late Malam Yari in Tudun Wada, where he consoled the family members over the demise of Alhaji Hamza Muhammad who passed away on Monday at the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe after a protracted illness.
The Governor then proceeded to the Late Sarkin Fulani Muhammad Kwairanga residence at Jankai quarters where he offered his condolences to the family over the demise of Hajiya Maryam, affectionately known as Goggo, who died last Tuesday following a prolonged illness. The governor described the loss of a mother as devastating, praying for Allah to reward the late Hajiya Maryam’s good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also visited the residence of the late Ishiaku Gwamna at Jekadafari quarters where he extended his sympathies to the family mourning the passing of Hajiya Husaini, who died last week. The governor acknowledged the profound loss, noting that the departure of the family matriarch leaves a significant void both within the family and the state.
In all the places visited, Governor Inuwa Yahaya reflected on the inevitability of death and encouraged the living to take it as a reminder to enhance their spiritual lives and fear Allah for a better hereafter. Special prayers were observed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
The governor was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Abubakar Inuwa Kari, some associates, and other government functionaries.
