Group Moves to Buy Nomination Form for Buni’s Senate Bid
A grassroots political support group, Buni Boys, says it will purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for Governor Mai Mala Buni to contest the Yobe East Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
The group, led by Comrade Dauda Mohammed Gombe, announced the decision in a statement issued on Tuesday in Damaturu.
According to the statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abba, the decision followed what it described as deep appreciation for Buni’s leadership style and record of service as governor of Yobe State and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.
The group said the planned purchase of the form was aimed at demonstrating confidence in Buni’s capacity, integrity, and commitment to public service.
It noted that under Buni’s administration, the state recorded milestones in infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, skills acquisition, and support for small and medium enterprises.
“The Buni Boys represent a generation inspired by that record. The foundation laid by His Excellency must be consolidated at the federal level,” the statement said.
The group also called on Buni to heed what it described as a clarion call to serve the people of Yobe East Senatorial District in the National Assembly in 2027.
It further appealed to stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, women groups, and youths across the district, to support the initiative to ensure continuity, progress, and inclusive representation.
