Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents have killed students at Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The attack occurred around 3:44 am on Friday, when the assailants invaded the school, which belongs to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shia sect.
Sources said the gunmen brought the students outside and shot them dead, leaving the community in a state of terror.
Vigilante sources confirmed that three members of the Shia sect were killed, while one sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, confirmed the incident but did not give details.
Captain Shehu Muhammad, Assistant Director Public Relations Unit, Operation Lafiya Dole Sector 2 Damaturu, promised to provide further information but had not done so at the time of filing this report.
