ICRC Trains Journalists On Safety Measures In Adamawa

Journalist have been advised to use first aid practice in their work place for their safety and security.

The First Aid and Prehospital Officer International Commitee of Red Cross (ICRC), Omoruyi Daniel Edobor gave the advice at the end of a three-day training organised for journalists on first aid practice at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Center, Yola.

Mr. Daniel who spoke extensively on casuality removal and transportation took the journalists on how to carry a patient in a stretcher and blanket to nearest hospital during emergency.

He urged the participants to be good ambassadors of the ICRC.

Responding on behalf on the participants, the State Secretary of NUJ, Comrade Fidelis Jocthan acknowledged the effort of ICRC to giving free medical treatment to victims of arms conflict.

He said the doors of the NUJ are always open to partnering the ICRC so that the organization achieved the desired mandate.

The NUJ Secretary encouraged participants to step down the knowledge acquired during the training to their colleagues and the  community at large.

The participants were drown from within and outside Adamawa State Media Organisations.
