In a closely contested by-election in Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency, Taraba State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday officially declared Engr. Sadiq Abbas Tafida, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
Tafida, 32, who scored a total of 19,681 votes garnered from the rerun and supplementary polls held on Wednesday, was the son of the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Njiddah Tafida.
The Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Jabayang Innocent Umar, came second with 16,379 votes while the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Malle polled 12,662 to come a third.
