The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians to disregard reports of an ongoing recruitment exercise being circulated on social media.
The Commission, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, described the reports as fake, adding that the recruitment advert was being peddled by criminal elements.
It said the impostors behind the advertorial also created a fake portal – www.inecrecruitment.com – through which they asked unsuspecting applicants to submit applications.
“The attention of the Commission has been drawn to a fake advertorial currently circulating on social media, giving the impression that INEC is recruiting for various positions.
“The Commission does not have any such portal and is not recruiting,” it said.
INEC urged members of the public not to fall victim to the antics of fraudsters, stressing that all genuine recruitment exercises by the Commission would be officially announced through its verified platforms.
