Israel has disclosed the extent of the damage inflicted on its territory following the drone and missile attack launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Rear Adm Daniel Hagari, the Israeli military spokesperson, confirmed on Sunday that the Nevatim airbase sustained a direct hit from ballistic missiles. However, he emphasized that the missile caused only “minor damage to infrastructure,” underscoring that the base remains fully operational.
In his briefing, Hagari stated that the strike resulted in injuries to a young girl, noting that all drones and cruise missiles launched by Iran were intercepted before breaching the country’s airspace.
“Ballistic missiles, only a small number… single digits… fell in the base and around,” he remarked. “A direct hit with minor damage that doesn’t affect the operational status of the base.”
He further mentioned that “one young girl was in intensive care in the hospital due to shrapnel injuries after the attacks.”
Hagari characterized the use of ballistic missiles as an “escalatory factor,” shedding light on the seriousness of the situation.
