Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved and presented additional JAC pickup vans to security agencies and key Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to strengthen governance, security operations and institutional efficiency across the state.
The presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday at the TY Danjuma House, Jalingo, and highlighted the Kefas administration’s commitment to investing in logistics as a foundation for effective service delivery and enhanced security coordination.
Representing the governor at the event, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Gibon Timothy Kataps, said a functional government must be mobile, responsive and visible in all parts of the state. He stressed that empowering institutions with the necessary operational tools is critical to achieving timely and effective service delivery.
Kataps noted that the provision of operational vehicles remains a continuous policy thrust of the Kefas-led administration, aimed at eliminating logistical challenges faced by MDAs and security agencies, particularly during the festive season when security demands are usually heightened.
He attributed the prevailing relative peace in Taraba State to Governor Kefas’s proactive leadership and strategic security interventions, assuring that the administration would continue to support agencies charged with the responsibility of protecting lives, property and public interest.
According to the SSG, the latest intervention reflects the governor’s governance philosophy, which places premium on efficiency, accountability and tangible results. He added that meaningful governance cannot be achieved without deliberate investment in tools that enhance institutional performance.
Beneficiaries of the vehicles commended the governor for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of strong political will and commitment to strengthening state institutions, boosting staff morale and consolidating peace and stability across Taraba State.
