Gov. Agbu Kefas on Friday flagged off the Boboji Storm Water Control Construction Project in Jalingo, aimed at tackling persistent flooding in the area.
Kefas said the intervention would restore hope to residents who had long suffered the devastating impact of recurrent floods in the community.
According to him, the project is designed to provide a lasting solution to the flooding challenges in the flood-prone zone and improve the living conditions of the people.
The governor also directed that the road linking the affected community be rehabilitated to enhance accessibility and complement the drainage project.
He noted that improved road infrastructure would ensure easier movement of residents and support the effectiveness of the storm water control system.
Kefas added that beyond addressing environmental concerns, the project would generate employment opportunities for residents during and after construction.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and sustainable interventions that directly impact the lives of citizens.
The governor urged residents of the area to cooperate with contractors to ensure timely completion of the project.
