Kefas Meets APC Youth Leaders Ahead of Possible Defection to Ruling Party

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has met with key youth stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja as part of ongoing consultations ahead of his anticipated defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party.

The meeting, which held on Wednesday at the T.Y. Danjuma House in Asokoro, brought together influential APC youth leaders and political mobilisers from across the country.

According to a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the Taraba State APC Youth Vanguard, Amb. Rikwense Muri, the engagement was aimed at building a united political front to accelerate development in Taraba through stronger collaboration with the Federal Government.

Governor Kefas was quoted as saying that Taraba State could no longer afford to remain isolated from the mainstream of national politics, stressing that his planned political realignment was motivated by the need to ensure greater development, improved security, and increased federal presence in the state.

The APC youth stakeholders commended Governor Kefas for what they described as a courageous and visionary step, noting that his move reflects a commitment to the collective interest of the people of Taraba beyond partisan lines.

They described his impending defection as a “masterstroke” capable of repositioning Taraba for progress, prosperity, and closer integration with the centre.

Observers within the political circle view the governor’s likely defection as a defining moment that could reshape Taraba’s political landscape and bridge the gap between the state and the federal government since 2015.
