Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba on Wednesday met with contractors handling government projects, stressing the need for timely completion of ongoing works before the commencement of new ones.
Speaking at the meeting in Jalingo, Kefas said his administration was committed to accelerating infrastructural development and other vital sectors of the state.
He announced that payments on state-handled projects would henceforth be made directly from banks to contractors to enhance transparency and accountability.
The governor also directed contractors to provide a one-year maintenance guarantee on completed projects as part of the new framework.
“Our commitment is to ensure a sustained drive for positive economic engagement with our partners and to give Tarabans a new lease of life,” Kefas said.
He urged contractors to align with the state government’s vision of efficiency and accountability in service delivery.
