Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has been ranked among the top three most outstanding senators in Nigeria, according to a recent legislative performance assessment.
The ranking was contained in the Deliberative Barometer Report (DBR), a comprehensive evaluation of the activities of the 10th National Assembly during its first session.
The report, released in Abuja, placed Ndume third out of the 109 serving senators based on criteria such as debate contributions, bill sponsorship, and overall legislative impact.
According to the DBR, Ndume made 45 substantive parliamentary interventions, including 18 contributions during plenary debates. The report highlighted his strong focus on national security, governance, and socioeconomic reforms.
It also noted that he sponsored and supported 10 bills – comprising four amendment bills and six private member bills – which addressed critical national issues and grassroots development.
Ndume’s inclusion in the top three reflects what the report described as his “consistency, experience, and unrelenting service” to his constituents and the nation.
Reacting to the report, his office said the recognition was a testament to his commitment to effective representation and legislative excellence.
Ndume, a former Senate Leader and long-serving legislator, is known for his advocacy on behalf of communities affected by insecurity in the North-East.
