Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has called for a greater participation of people in the electoral process to deepen the democratic tenets in the country.
The Governor gave this advice at a campaign rally of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Numan ahead of the forthcoming council polls in the state, slated July 13, 2024.
Advocating measures for youth development, Governor Fintiri said unless the elites continue to encourage them to participate in the electoral process that their future will be brighter.
The Governor opined that he who fears to participate in electoral process particularly council polls is not a real democrat, and therefore urged people to activity take part in the council polls.
While in Demsa on the same purpose, Governor Fintiri, reveals that the PDP believes in championing the course of youths, which he said informed the decision of the party to field them as candidates for this election.
He asked the people of Demsa to vote all the PDP’s candidates during the council polls, as according to him, the party remains the only formidable and serious body with a clear blueprint to better the lives of people.
Governor Fintiri says his administration through the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) will embark on empowering ten thousand women after every three months with fifty thousand grant.
The State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu in his separate remarks at the rallies, stressed that Numan and Demsa are the PDP stronghold and urged the residents to maintain their support to the party.
Barrister Kwamotti Laori, the member Representating Demsa, Human and Lamurde in the Green Chamber, among other speakers urged voters to deliver their respective areas for the PDP during council polls.
