The people of Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa State’s northern region have requested Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to create a first-class monarch, known as the Madagali Chiefdom.
The request was presented during a courtesy call and memo presentation to the governor at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola on Monday.
Governor Fintiri thanked the Madagali people for the visit and called on them to embrace unity and love for development.
He assured them that his administration will continue to perform well and urged the people to take ownership of the properties and infrastructural facilities provided by the government.
Former Governor Bala James Ngillari, who presented the request, noted that the creation of the Madagali Chiefdom would bring the government closer to the grassroots level.
He stated that the decision was collective and, if approved, would have its headquarters in Guluk.
Mr. Saleh Kinjir commended Governor Fintiri for restoring normalcy in Madagali Local Government Area, which was previously affected by Boko Haram insurgency.
The Chairman of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Mohamed Umar, also recognized the governor’s visionary leadership and commended him for elevating local government sons and daughters with key appointments, infrastructure provision, free education, and scholarships.
