The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 25-year-old man, Abdu Hamidu, for allegedly sexually assaulting his 9-year-old niece.
The suspect, a resident of Kwakwa in Hong Local Government Area, was arrested on May 4, 2024, following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, who is also the suspect’s brother.
According to the Police Command’s Spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspect lured the minor into his room, away from prying eyes, and had carnal knowledge of her.
The spokesman assured that the suspect will face charges in court once the investigation is complete.
