The Adamawa State Police Command apprehended Linus Dimas, a 43-year-old resident of Kugama Wuro Jibir in Mayo Belwa Local Government, on the 18th of December, 2023.
Dimas stands accused of fatally assaulting Yauba Usman, a staff member of the Nasarawo Jereng Area Court, who had been serving him with a court summons.Reports from the scene indicate that upon receiving the court summons, Dimas vehemently rejected it, leading to a confrontation with Usman.
The situation quickly escalated, resulting in Dimas allegedly stabbing Usman multiple times with a knife, inflicting grievous wounds.
Despite swift efforts to save his life, Usman succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
In response to this tragic incident, the Commissioner of Police has directed that the case be thoroughly and discreetly investigated.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) urged the public to remain calm and assured them that the law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing justice in this matter.
