A concerned citizen, Suleiman Ahmed Yahya, has shared a troubling account of the deteriorating conditions at Modibbo Adama Teaching Hospital, raising serious concerns about hygiene and medical care at the facility.
In a public complaint, Yahya recounted his recent experience when his uncle was admitted to the hospital. He described the facility as lacking basic medications and suffering from poor sanitation, particularly in the restrooms, which he said emitted unbearable odors.
“The lack of clean restrooms is what frustrates me the most. Patients are forced to endure unpleasant odors while trying to recover. Even nurses wear face masks to cope, while visitors are left with nothing but complaints,” he wrote.
He questioned how patients could be expected to recover in such an environment and urged both the Federal Government and the hospital management to take urgent action.
“Our hospitals should be sanctuaries for healing, not places that exacerbate health problems,” he added.
His complaint has sparked reactions, with many calling for immediate improvements in hospital conditions. Authorities have yet to respond to the allegations.
