Man Stabs Wife To Death For Taking His Phone In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command on Monday arrested a 33-year-old man, Ibrahim Abubakar, for the tragic murder of his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu, in Girei Local Government Area.

According to a statement by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, ANIPR, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, the suspect, a Butcher residing in Sabon Gari-Futy, allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times with a sharp knife, resulting in fatal injuries that led to her untimely death.

The incident occurred around 4:30 am on the same day, following a dispute where the suspect accused his wife of taking his phone, resulting into a fatal confrontation.

The suspect was apprehended based on a report filed by the deceased’s father, leading to the recovery of incriminating evidence at the crime scene.

The suspect voluntary confessed to the heinous act, expressing remorse for his actions towards the mother of their child.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), expressed deep regret over the tragedy and assured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served through a thorough investigation and prosecution of the perpetrator.

In response to this appalling crime, the CP has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and ensure that the full weight of the law is applied.

Additionally, the Commissioner urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals in their communities to prevent such incidents in the future.
