Professional Biography
Alqasim Ahmad is the Editor-in-Chief of Insight Northeast Nigeria and one of the publication’s founding architects. A Computer Engineer by academic training and a Senior Inspector of Factories by profession, he brings a rare combination of technical rigour, regulatory expertise, and data-driven analytical depth to the platform’s editorial operations.
Alqasim holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Bayero University Kano (BUK), one of Nigeria’s leading federal universities. His engineering background provides an exceptionally strong foundation for the platform’s technology, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and digital policy coverage — enabling him to interpret and communicate complex technical developments with accuracy and authority that most general journalists cannot match.
He currently serves as a Senior Inspector of Factories with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Nigeria, where he has accumulated over nine years of professional experience in occupational safety and health (OSH) inspection, regulatory compliance monitoring, and industrial data analytics. In this government role, he has developed deep expertise in Nigerian labour law, workplace safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and industrial policy — areas of direct relevance to Insight Northeast’s public policy and workers’ rights coverage.
In 2024, Alqasim founded Q Core Nexus, a professional consulting firm headquartered in Nigeria that delivers OSH compliance solutions, data analytics consulting, and digital services to organizations across the country. As the CEO of Q Core Nexus, he leads engagements involving Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau — enterprise-grade data tools that he applies to transform complex datasets into actionable strategic insights for corporate and government clients.
At Insight Northeast, Alqasim’s dual expertise in industrial regulation and data science directly shapes the publication’s editorial standards. His approach to journalism mirrors the rigour of professional inspection work — every claim is verified, every statistic is sourced, and every article is edited for both factual accuracy and public impact. He brings particular editorial authority to Insight Northeast’s coverage of occupational safety, workers’ rights, financial literacy, health policy, and public sector governance.
Beyond his professional roles, Alqasim is a dedicated trainer and educator. He designs and delivers professional development programmes in data analytics and digital skills for individuals and organizations across northern Nigeria, contributing to the region’s growing professional capacity in technology and data-driven decision-making.
Under his editorial leadership, Insight Northeast Nigeria has expanded its reach to readers in more than 150 countries, established a reputation for evidence-based public interest reporting, and built a growing library of authoritative long-form content across health, finance, law, technology, and Northeast Nigeria regional affairs.

Editorial Philosophy
Alqasim Ahmad’s editorial philosophy is defined by the principle that great journalism and rigorous professional standards are inseparable. Every article published under his editorial supervision is held to the same evidence-based standard he applies in his work as a government inspector — claims must be verifiable, sources must be credible, and public interest must be the defining criterion for what deserves coverage.
His background at the intersection of engineering, regulation, and public service gives him a distinctive editorial lens: one that is skeptical of unverified claims, attentive to data, and deeply committed to the kind of journalism that improves lives rather than merely attracts attention.
