MAU Yola Confers Degrees On 5,492 Students, 53 Bag First-Class Honors

The Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola has held its 28th Convocation ceremony, graduating a total of 5,545 students who completed their studies in various disciplines.

The ceremony, which took place on Saturday, saw 53 students awarded first-class honors, 1,143 second-class upper, 2,376 second-class lower, 682 third-class, and 28 pass degrees.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Tukur, the graduating students include 458 diploma recipients, 4,282 Bachelor’s degree holders, 41 post-graduate diploma recipients, 630 Master’s degree holders, and 134 Ph.D. graduates.

The graduands comprised those who finished their academic programs in the 2022/2023 academic session and some who graduated earlier but couldn’t participate in last year’s convocation ceremony.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, commended the Vice Chancellor for his achievements, including conducting three convocation ceremonies during his five-year tenure.

Fintiri praised Tukur’s efforts, noting that most Vice Chancellors struggle to organize a single convocation ceremony during their entire tenure.
