MAUTH Yola Begins Free 48-Hour Emergency Medical Services

The Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, has commenced free 48-hour emergency medical services under the National Emergency Medical and Ambulance Service (NEMAS) scheme.

Prof. Bakari Adamu Girei, Chief Medical Director of the hospital, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Yola.

According to him, the initiative aims to provide free admission, investigations, treatment, and surgery (if required) for financially challenged individuals who require emergency medical attention.

“This initiative ensures that no one is denied emergency healthcare due to financial constraints. It is part of our commitment to saving lives and improving access to quality medical services,” he said.

He urged residents of Yola and surrounding areas to take advantage of the service in critical situations.

Girei also provided a contact number for emergency cases: 08109644433.

The initiative aligns with the federal government’s efforts to strengthen emergency healthcare services and improve response systems nationwide.
