A measles outbreak in Mubi and Gombi local government areas has claimed the lives of 42 people, according to Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwame.
The outbreak has affected 8 wards in Mubi and 7 wards in Gombi, with a total of 131 and 177 cases reported respectively. The commissioner on Friday revealed that all local government areas in the state, except Lamurde, have been put on high alert.
The ministry has responded swiftly to the outbreak and is working to manage the situation. The government and partners are closely monitoring the situation and advise citizens to take precautionary measures against the disease.
The commissioner urged people to be aware of their environment and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of measles.
