Mubi North Chairman Launches Massive Empowerment Drive for Residents

The Executive Chairman of Mubi North Local Government Area in Adamawa State, Hon. Musa Hassan, has flagged off a large-scale empowerment programme aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting self-reliance among residents of the council.

The initiative, which follows a similar programme recently conducted in Toungo Local Government, underscores the growing commitment of grassroots leaders in the state to deliver tangible democratic dividends to their people.

Speaking during the launch in Mubi, Hon. Musa Hassan said the empowerment scheme was designed to boost local businesses, support artisans, and reduce unemployment across the local government area.

“This initiative reflects our administration’s resolve to uplift the lives of our people by providing them with tools and opportunities to succeed on their own,” he stated.

As part of the empowerment package, the council distributed:

30 Toyota vehicles (Paris models)

Tailoring machines

Tricycles (Keke NAPEP)

Water pump generators

Commercial motorcycles (Carry-go)

And several other empowerment materials targeted at farmers, traders, and small-scale entrepreneurs.

The council boss noted that the intervention would not only stimulate economic activities but also empower beneficiaries to contribute meaningfully to the development of Mubi North.

Community leaders, youth groups, and women’s associations present at the event commended the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of responsive leadership and a boost to local economic growth.

Observers say the initiative reflects a growing trend of people-oriented governance at the local level in Adamawa State, with expectations now turning to other council chairmen to emulate the gesture.
