The Nigeria Arabic Language Village (NALV), Ngala, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, to enhance academic cooperation and educational experiences.
According to Umar Sanda, Office of the Director CEO, the MoU, signed on September 2, 2024, at the university’s campus, outlines several areas of cooperation aimed at promoting linguistic and cultural diversity. These include language immersion programs, capacity building training, innovative research, student exchange, and joint lectures.
Professor Ibrahim Muhammad, Director CEO of NALV, led a delegation to the university, where he was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Muhammad Yakasai, alongside other top officials. In his remarks, Professor Muhammad highlighted the benefits of the partnership, including improved language proficiency and cultural awareness for students.
He congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on his recent appointment and expressed gratitude for his dedication to ensuring the success of the MoU. He also informed the university management that the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has provided facilities to the village to accommodate students and staff for their administrative and other activities.
The collaboration is expected to enhance the educational experiences of staff and students from both institutions and contribute to a deeper appreciation of linguistic and cultural diversity.
The partnership will also provide opportunities for joint research projects, academic exchange programs, and capacity building initiatives.
The formal signing of the MoU was witnessed by officials from both institutions, including Dr. Kasim Alkali, Head of Educational Planning, Research and Development, Arch. Mohammed Yusuf Mohammed, Coordinator of Works and Physical Planning Department, and Babagana Ali Mala, Deputy Registrar Security Management, among others.
