NCC Hands Over ICT Centre to Adamawa Govt

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has officially handed over Wing B of its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre to the Adamawa State Government, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ICT capacity building and promote digital inclusion.

The handover ceremony, held at the NCC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre along Yola-Fufore Road, was attended by key government officials, including the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, and his counterparts from the Ministries of Justice, Information and Strategy, and Entrepreneurship Development, as well as technical teams from the state’s housing ministry.

Facilities handed over include an administrative block, lecture theatres, hostel accommodation, a conference hall, and classrooms. These structures are intended to support advanced telecommunications and ICT training to bridge the digital divide and enhance human capacity development in Nigeria’s ICT sector.

Speaking at the event, representatives from both the NCC and the Adamawa State Government highlighted the importance of the centre in driving innovation, fostering entrepreneurship, and equipping youths with 21st-century digital skills.

The handover was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Secretary to the State Government on behalf of Adamawa State, and Halima Buba Wakili, who represented the NCC.

According to the NCC, the centre is expected to create job opportunities, encourage start-ups, and shift learning from virtual to physical spaces where learners can engage more deeply with cutting-edge ICT tools and resources.
