Ndume Condemns Killing of Biu Constituents, Mourns Victims

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of some residents of Biu Local Government Area by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

In a statement on Thursday, Ndume said the victims were peace-loving and hardworking individuals who were attacked while constructing a bridge along the Mandagarau axis of the area. He added that several others sustained varying degrees of injuries during the incident.

The senator described the attack as devastating, painful and unacceptable, extending his condolences to the families of the deceased, the people of Biu Local Government Area, and the Government and people of Borno State.

“I received the news with profound shock and sadness. This heartbreaking loss is completely unacceptable,” he said.

Ndume disclosed that he had directed the immediate dispatch of a delegation to visit the families of the deceased and those currently receiving medical treatment, to offer support and solidarity.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working with relevant authorities and security agencies to ensure an end to what he described as senseless violence in the area.

“Our people deserve to live and work in safety, and every necessary effort must be made to restore lasting peace in our communities,” he said.

The senator also prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and for strength for their families to bear the loss.
