Ndume Empowers Gwoza Widow Who Took Up Bricklaying To Feed Children

Sen. Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC–Borno South) has empowered a widow from Gwoza Local Government Area, Mrs. Amina Abdullahi, with livelihood support to improve her means of survival.

The lawmaker provided the widow, who had resorted to bricklaying and other menial jobs to sustain her family and educate her children, with a grinding machine, a sewing machine and ₦200,000 cash support.

Mrs. Abdullahi, who lost her husband five years ago, came to public attention when she was seen working alongside bricklayers on community projects in Wala.

Her resilience attracted the attention of Hon. Abdullahi Danjato, a political stalwart in Gwoza, who reported her case to the senator.

The items were formally presented to the beneficiary by the Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Timta, who commended the senator for his swift intervention and urged Amina to use the support judiciously.

The monarch also donated wrappers to her, while Danjato gave an additional ₦50,000.

Responding, the visibly elated widow expressed gratitude to the senator, describing the gesture as a turning point in her struggle to secure a better future for her children.
