In a collaborative effort to tackle youth unemployment and address staff shortages at the Yola Distribution Company, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and Mainstream Energy Solution Ltd have empowered 60 youths who successfully completed their training as linemen.
The graduation ceremony, hosted by the NEDC on Saturday, was graced by distinguished guests and officials. Dr. Garba Iliya, the Executive Director of Administration and Finance at the commission, highlighted the transformative impact of the program on the lives of the youths in the subregion.
Usman Mohammed Umar, the Executive Director of Mainstream Energy Solution Ltd, praised the partnership’s dedication to empowering the youths and providing them with a promising future through rigorous training.
The graduates expressed their appreciation for the opportunity and quality training received, pledging to uphold professionalism and integrity in their new roles at the Yola Distribution Company.
Engr Isa, the Executive Director of Yola Distribution Company, emphasized the company’s core values and zero tolerance for misconduct, urging the graduates to uphold these standards.
Alhaji Goni Alkali, the CEO of the North East Commission, acknowledged the challenges in addressing youth unemployment and commended Mainstream Energy Solution Ltd for their collaboration, offering support to the graduates as they embark on their careers.
In addition to the graduation, the NEDC presented two operational vehicles to support organizations like the Nigerian Arabic Village Ngala and the North East Governors Forum, showcasing their commitment to regional development.
