The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a fresh reminder to newly admitted students, assuring them that they can still complete their tuition loan applications even if their matriculation numbers have not yet been assigned.
In an update released on Wednesday, NELFUND encouraged freshers across tertiary institutions to use their Admission Number or JAMB Registration ID as an alternative identifier when applying for the student loan.
“Freshers, this one’s for you! If your matric number isn’t ready yet, no wahala — just use your Admission Number or JAMB Registration ID to complete your NELFUND tuition loan application,” the statement read.
The agency also urged students to begin or complete their applications promptly, as the loan portal will close on January 31, 2026.
