NPA Signals Fuel, Food Supply Influx as 32 Vessels Head to Lagos Ports

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced the expected arrival of 32 vessels laden with petroleum products, food items and other essential goods at major Lagos ports, signalling a boost to fuel and food supply across the country.

The Authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position on Monday, noting that the vessels are scheduled to arrive at the Apapa Port, Tin-Can Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port between January 12 and January 30, 2026.

According to the NPA, the incoming ships are conveying a wide range of cargoes, including crude oil, aviation fuel, gasoline (petrol), raw oil, condensate, bulk bitumen, bulk urea, containers, empty containers and general cargo.

The Authority further revealed that 10 vessels and tankers have already arrived at the three ports and are currently awaiting berthing. These ships are carrying products such as diesel, crude oil, bulk wheat, petrol, fresh fish, raw oil, containers and bulk salt.

In addition, the NPA stated that no fewer than 31 vessels are presently discharging cargo at the Tin-Can, Apapa and Lekki ports. The cargoes being offloaded include bulk fertiliser, general cargo, bulk wheat, bulk salt, diesel, soya beans, bulk urea, bulk gas, petrol, fresh fish and containers with assorted goods.

The development, the Authority said, reflects sustained port activities and is expected to ease supply pressures, particularly in the energy and food sectors, while supporting trade and economic activities nationwide.
