El-Kanemi Warriors FC ended the first stanza of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on a high, defeating Kano Pillars 1-0 on Sunday at the El-Kanemi Sports Centre, Maiduguri.
The decisive moment of the match came in the 38th minute when Al-Amin Umar fired home the only goal of the game, securing maximum points for the Desert Warriors.
The hard-fought victory saw El-Kanemi Warriors display impressive defensive discipline to hold off Sai Masu Gida, who pressed for an equaliser but were unable to break through.
