NUC Approves New Degree Programmes at FCE (T) Gombe from 2025/2026 Session

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of full-time undergraduate degree programmes at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, to be run under the dual mandate arrangement beginning from the 2025/2026 academic session.

The approval allows the college to commence full-time Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Science Education, Bachelor of Arts Education and Bachelor of Technology Education programmes across several disciplines.

According to the approved list, the programmes include B.Ed. Early Childhood Care Education, B.Ed. Adult Education, B.Ed. Primary Education, B.Sc. Education in Home Economics, Economics, Geography, English Language, Arabic, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Biology, Integrated Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science and Agricultural Science.

Other approved programmes are B.A. Education in Islamic Studies and Christian Religious Studies, as well as B.Sc. Education in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Education.

The commission also approved B.Tech. Education in Technical Education with options in Automobile Technology, Building Technology, Electrical/Electronics Technology, Metalwork Technology and Woodwork Technology.

With the approval, the college is expected to admit students into the programmes as a full-time degree-awarding institution alongside its existing mandate.

Prospective candidates have been advised to change their choice of institution to Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe to be eligible for admission into the newly approved programmes.

The management of the college noted that the change of institution is free of charge and urged interested applicants to visit the ICT Centre of the college to complete the process at no cost.

The development is expected to expand access to quality teacher education and technical training in Gombe State and the North-East region.
