The National Universities Commission (NUC) has announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise for qualified Nigerians across various professional, technical, and administrative cadres.
The recruitment, which spans officer, secretarial, and auxiliary staff positions, offers opportunities for individuals with varying levels of education and experience to join the Commission.
According to a statement by the NUC on Thursday, the available positions include:
Officer Cadre
Senior Officer (CONTISS 9): Requires a Ph.D. or Master’s degree with a minimum of four years post-qualification experience, or a first degree with six years of experience.
Officer I / Trainee (CONTISS 8): Requires a Master’s degree or first degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
Officer II / Trainee (CONTISS 7): Requires a first degree.
Confidential Secretary Cadre
Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 7): Requires a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies and a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience.
Clerical and Auxiliary Staff Cadre
Assistant Cameraman and Data Processing Assistant (CONTISS 5): Requires a National Diploma in Cinematography, Mass Communication, or relevant fields.
Artisan/Craftsman Roles (CONTISS 4 or 3): Requires an ‘O’ Level certificate with technical training and relevant experience.
Lift Operator (CONTISS 4 or 3): Requires a First School Leaving Certificate with technical training in lift operation.
The Commission stated that all applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged between 18 and 50 years and possess the appropriate educational qualifications, digital skills, and computer literacy, particularly for CONTISS 7-9 positions. NYSC discharge or exemption certificates are mandatory for graduate-level roles.

The NUC emphasized that the recruitment process will be transparent, merit-based, and in line with federal civil service guidelines.
