Obasanjo Commissions Grade Interchange And Underpass In Yola

Former Nigeria’s President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Wednesday commissions the Grade Interchange and Underpass in Yola, the Adamawa State capital constructed by the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri administration.

Flagged off on 30th August, 2020, the Grade Interchange and underpass at the former Police Roundabout links Galadima Aminu Way, Justice Buba Ardo road and an Overhead Bridge linking Atiku Abubakar Road and Lamido Aliyu Mustafa Road.

The former president, who was the special guest of honor at the event, commended Governor Fintiri for completing work on the Grade interchange and other developmental projects executed that change the heart of Yola for the better.

“If half of the states in this country are aspiring and achieving the sort of programmes development, project creation and development that you are doing in this state, it is a matter of time, when Nigeria can and reclaim to be among real developed countries in the world,” he said.

Fintiri who named the Grade interchange and Underpass as “Adamawa Unity Bridge”, invites the skeptics who doubted the construction and competition of the project to enjoy its socioeconomic benefits.

Governor Fintiri said the plan of the bridge was carefully crafted which aims to raise the standard of the state capital to attract investors.

He stressed that the government is building the flyovers because: “We must not wait until the population burst to the level of disorder and our roads are taking over by gridlocks, it is equally cheaper to do it now, than wait when we may not have the needed resources to execute it.”

He said that his administration will continue to sustain infrastructural derive until all urban and semi urban centers are wearing a befitting look to the comfort and convenience of the teeming populace and investors.

In his welcome remarks, the Commissioner of Works and Energy, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar said the mega project being the first of its kind in the Northeast, will add beauty and manage vehicular activities in the city.

The Managing Director of Triacta Nigeria Limited, Mr Elie Abou Farhat while thanking the state government for the opportunity giving to the firm, restated the commitment  of the company to the development of Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole.

In his goodwill message, the former Governor of Adamawa state, Barrister Bala James Ngilari, noted with happiness, the transformational derive of Governor Fintiri, describing it as remarkable, capable of driving in investments into the state.
