The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has announced that it will commence the distribution of forms for the Fintiri Business Wallet Empowerment Programme across all 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State through designated stakeholders.
According to the Director General of the agency, Dr. Michael Zira, the initiative is aimed at supporting individuals engaged in micro and small-scale businesses across communities in the state. He said the programme is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots economic activities and assist low-income earners striving to sustain their livelihoods.
Dr. Zira cautioned against the misuse of the distribution process, stressing that forms should not be issued based on personal interest, family connections or any form of favouritism. Instead, he said the agency expects that only genuine traders and business owners who are actively involved in daily economic activities and require financial support should benefit.
The empowerment programme targets traders, artisans, food vendors, petty shop operators, tailors, mechanics and other small-scale business owners across urban and rural communities.
PAWECA further appealed to community leaders, ward representatives and distribution committees to ensure a transparent, fair and inclusive process. The agency noted that strict adherence to these guidelines would help guarantee that the intended beneficiaries—those truly in need—receive the support.
The rollout of the forms is expected to begin in the coming days.
