PDP Boycotting Yobe LG Poll Over Fear Of Defeat – Gov Buni’s Aide

Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Buni on Digital and Strategic Communications, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State of boycotting the upcoming local government election due to fear of defeat.

In a statement issued to newsmen, Ali claimed that the PDP has nothing to offer the people and has foreseen its impending defeat in the May 25, 2024, local government poll. He alleged that the party has resorted to blackmail instead of embarking on grassroots campaigns to redeem its image.

Ali stated that even if the All Progressives Congress (APC) members do not participate in the election, the PDP cannot win any post because the people will still reject them at the polls.

He added that the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YBSIEC) has done everything possible to conduct free, fair, and credible polls and has adequately informed political parties about the upcoming election activities schedules.
