PDP Vows Reconciliation, National Takeover After Landmark Meeting in Yola

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has pledged to strengthen internal unity and embark on reconciliation efforts following its inaugural executive committee meeting held on Monday in Yola.

The meeting, described as “historic” by party leaders, brought together all 21 Local Government Area chairmen at the PDP state secretariat and was presided over by the State Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Madagali.

In his opening remarks, Madagali reaffirmed the party’s commitment to rebuilding its structures and restoring confidence among members, saying the PDP would be guided by inclusivity, fairness, and justice.

“We are determined to lead this party to greater heights. I call on all executives to join hands and work as a team so that together we can achieve our common goals,” he stated.

The State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Victor Dogo, described the meeting as “fruitful and forward-looking,” noting that the leadership had resolved to “hit the ground running” with strategic plans for reconciliation and expansion.

“Our first priority is reconciliation. We will protect the interest of every member and ensure that no one is left behind,” Dogo said.

He acknowledged recent defections from the party to rival political groups but maintained that such movements would not derail the PDP’s momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The PDP will continue to lead Adamawa State and, by God’s grace, we are preparing to take over power at the national level in 2027,” he added confidently.

Political observers say the meeting reflects the PDP’s renewed efforts to consolidate its dominance in Adamawa State, where it currently governs, and to reposition itself for a strong national comeback.

Party insiders confirmed that the resolutions adopted at the Yola meeting would form the framework for wider consultations and grassroots mobilization across the state in the coming weeks.
