The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all 16 local government chairmanship seats in the just-concluded council elections across Taraba State.

According to official results released by the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) and signed by its Executive Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Philip D. Duwe, the PDP candidates emerged victorious after securing the highest number of votes in every local government area.

In a statement dated Nov. 8, 2025, Duwe said the elections were conducted peacefully and in accordance with the provisions of the law, adding that all PDP candidates “having met the legal requirements, are hereby declared winners and returned elected.”

The detailed results show decisive victories for the PDP in key local government areas such as Wukari with 163,513 votes, Bali with 119,331 votes, Sardauna with 152,427 votes, and Jalingo with 107,902 votes. Other councils including Takum, Gassol, Lau, and Yorro also recorded wide margins in favour of the ruling party.

Chief Duwe commended political parties, security agencies, and the electorate for ensuring a peaceful and orderly process, reaffirming TSIEC’s commitment to transparency and credible elections in the state.

The outcome further strengthens the PDP’s political dominance in Taraba and is seen as an endorsement of the leadership and development strides of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas.
