The Nigeria Police Force in Bauchi State has arrested four siblings over the alleged killing of a private security guard during an attack on a farm in Jama’are Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the incident occurred in the early hours of March 15 at a farm belonging to one Idris Waziri Kwamawa.
He said the attack was initially reported by hunters, prompting the Divisional Police Officer to lead a patrol team to the scene.
“On arrival, one of the guards, Bello Bura, 40, was found dead, while two others sustained injuries,” he said.
According to the statement, the injured victims—Sani Hussaini and Gidado Mohammed, both aged 32—were rushed to a hospital for treatment, where a medical doctor confirmed Bura dead.
The police said the deceased had since been released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
Habib explained that six suspects were initially arrested in connection with the incident, but four of them—identified as Chidawa Ahmadu, 25; Adamu Ahmadu, 20; Usman Ahmadu, 15; and Yusuf Ahmadu, 22—are currently in custody for alleged culpable homicide.
He added that items recovered from the suspects include three cutlasses, two sticks and a torchlight.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The police said investigations were ongoing to ensure that all those involved in the incident were brought to justice.
