In its continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes, the Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended three suspects and recovered illegal substances during a raid in Malabu, Fufore Local Government Area.
The raid, carried out on Dec. 18, 2024, followed actionable intelligence received by the police regarding a criminal hideout in the area. The operation led to the arrest of three individuals identified as Shafiu Musa, Idris Mohammed, and Bashiru Nasiru, all adults and residents of Malabu District.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the suspects were found in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs. During preliminary investigations, the trio reportedly confessed to their involvement in the illegal drug trade and connections to the global black market.
The Adamawa State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens. The PPRO emphasized that the fight against drug trafficking remains a priority, noting that the Command would continue to deploy all resources at its disposal to tackle the menace of illegal drugs in the state.
The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to assist law enforcement agencies in combating crime. The arrested suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
The Command assured the public that it would sustain its operations to ensure a drug-free and secure society in Adamawa State.
