The Borno State Police Command says it has arrested two suspects and recovered a stolen tricycle in Maiduguri.
ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Maiduguri.
Daso said the feat was recorded by operatives of the Command’s Crack Squad following sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance.
He explained that on Aug. 4, one Abubakar Tijjani of Jajeri area reported that his tricycle, with chassis number MD6M14PA8P4K02424 and body number BG40, had been stolen by unknown persons.
“Acting on the report, operatives swung into action, and on Aug. 30, two suspects, Yakubu Musa and Adamu Musa, both of Jajeri area, were arrested.
“Upon investigation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the crime, which led to the recovery of the stolen tricycle,” Daso said.
He quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, as commending the operatives for their commitment and assuring the public of the Command’s determination to rid the state of criminal activities.
The commissioner also urged residents to support the police with timely and credible information to enhance security across the state.
The command further released its emergency contacts as 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.
