Police Begin Investigation into Death of Missing Man in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Gambo Keke Vahyella, popularly known as Zira, who was reported missing for several weeks.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, the decomposed body of the deceased was discovered on Oct. 20, 2025, around the Bagale Mountain area.

The statement said the body had been evacuated to a hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

It added that the Command had launched a full-scale investigation to unravel the circumstances leading to the incident.

“The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death of one Gambo Keke Vahyella (a.k.a. Zira), whose decomposed body was found on Oct. 20, 2025, around Bagale Mountain. The body has been removed to the hospital for autopsy,” the statement read.

The police appealed to members of the public for their usual cooperation and support to assist in the ongoing investigation.
