Police Investigate Alleged Student Torture In Aliyu Mustafa Academy

The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into an alleged case of student torture at Aliyu Mustafa Academy, Jimeta-Yola.

The student, Jaafar Bashiri Tofa, an SS1 pupil, was reportedly subjected to severe beating by a teacher (name withheld) and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), condemned the incident and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigations to handle the case for a discreet inquiry.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Saturday, assured the public that justice would prevail.

He urged teachers to exercise restraint and avoid actions that exceed their professional responsibilities.

“The Commissioner of Police has directed a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure justice is served. We call for calm from the public as the investigation progresses,” Nguroje said.

The command assured that further developments would be communicated as the inquiry unfolds.
