
The Borno State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers and recovered a locally made pistol following a foiled abduction attempt in Sabon Gari Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area.
According to security sources, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday when four armed men attempted to abduct Mohammed Abubakar from his residence. The victim resisted the attack with a cutlass, forcing the assailants to flee.
After receiving a distress call at about 6:00 a.m., security operatives, including police officers and local vigilantes, tracked the suspects to a nearby hideout, leading to their arrest. The suspects were identified as Salisu Hussain, Buhari Hussaini, and Umar Bello, all residents of Gajali Village.
A locally made pistol was recovered, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accomplice.
The Borno State Police Command commended the swift response of security personnel and urged residents to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
