The Adamawa State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota RAV4 vehicle and arrested two suspects in connection with the crime.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in a statement issued on Monday, said the breakthrough was achieved following an investigation launched on Dec. 23, 2024.
The statement noted that Mr. Aliyu Umar of Wuro Hausa, Yola South Local Government Area, had reported the theft of his Toyota RAV4, with registration number RSH 548 BB.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), directed the deployment of detectives, led by DPO Yola, SP Habib Muhammed Musa, to investigate the case,” the statement said.
“Their efforts led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
“The suspects are Yusuf Mohd Isah, 25, a resident of Wuro Hausa, Yola South LGA, and Faisal Mahmud, 30, a resident of Kolere Ward, Mubi North LGA.”
The police revealed that the suspects had changed the vehicle’s number plate in an attempt to evade arrest.
The PPRO said the suspects were in custody and were assisting police investigations aimed at recovering more stolen property.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement added.
The command urged residents to cooperate with the police by providing timely information that could help in crime prevention and detection.
