The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, David Iloyanomon, has emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful demonstration, free from violence or damage to properties, ahead of the upcoming protest scheduled for August 1, 2024.

Addressing stakeholders in Jalingo, the state capital, on Saturday, the commissioner urged protest organizers to submit detailed plans, including protest routes, duration, and names of organizers, to ensure sufficient security measures are deployed.

The police command also conducted a show of force on Friday in Jalingo metropolis to assure residents of their safety and security during the protest.

The Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier Kingsley Uwa, stated that their duty is to maintain law and order and ensure that everyone can go about their lawful business without fear of intimidation.
