After a two-leg foreign trip that sparked speculation about his whereabouts, President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Wednesday, according to a statement from the presidency.
The President had left Nigeria on April 23 for the Netherlands and later attended the Special Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from April 28 to 29.
However, his failure to return to the country six days after the event led to speculation that he may be undergoing medical treatment abroad.
In a brief statement on Tuesday, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria from Europe on Wednesday, accompanied by his aides.
The President’s return is expected to put an end to the speculation and uncertainty that has surrounded his absence from the country. Further details about his trip and activities during his time abroad are yet to be disclosed.
